Society

Gnomes are considered eccentric by most races, with their outlandish looks and antics being beyond logical understanding for any non-gnome. They do not have any standard governmental structure, relying instead on judging worth by sexual prowess. This, however, only matters within their own societies. In human-dominated areas, they will scatter themselves freely so long as they are allowed to do so.

Attitudes

People of this race are generally passive, though mischievous and promiscuous. They are typically very open-minded and respectful of the traditions and laws of other races, though are not above breaking laws they don't believe serve a rightful purpose. Nothing will stop them from pulling off a prank or joke, no matter how minor or extreme it is. Regardless, gnomes are essentially harmless and are more likely to dodge out of a fight than harm another. A battle, however, is the clearest test of their loyalty; having a gnome fighting at your side is the most obvious sign of full loyalty, friendship, and care.

Behavior

Gnomes are highly sexual beings, not discriminating by race, gender, age, or looks. If it lives, it can be coupled with. Sex, to this race, is also not connected to love in any way, and it is not uncommon for a romantic couple to involve third parties in their more intimate activities. This, of course, is not understood by other races, especially the elves. Gnomes are respectful, however, and will not proposition anyone that they do not think would agree to such actions.
Much to the horror and confusion of other races, these people are also very likely to dive into behaviors and adventures others would consider risky or even deadly. If there's a secret, priceless gem locked in the castle behind peril-less traps then they will steal it just for the thrill (and might even give it back). Adrenaline, sex, pleasure, and freedom are a gnome's best friends, and there is nothing a gnome will not without or for one of them. They do not limit this behavior to themselves, however, and will maneuver others into various situations with the sole, innocent intent of showing them new things.

Language

The native tongues of the gnomes are referred to as Classic, or Ancient, Gnomish and Modern, or Revolutionary Gnomish. Their traditional language was harsher than their modern one, and has been largely lost over the years. Pieces of it can be found here.

When the worlds of gnomes and humans began to melt together, the gnomes quickly adapted to their culture and learned the common speech. However, many of them chose, instead, to blend the languages. This allows them to be able to speak to one another freely, without worrying about the judgement of other races (something they find to be quite useful when planning an especially complex prank). For Revolutionary Gnomish, use French.
